Keyword research has long been a critical component of an SEO campaign. Learn the definitions, meanings, and methods for finding keywords (Keyword Research) in this post
Keywords have an important role in SEO. They are as important as the brain for humans or behave like a backbone for the content. Different tools are used to research keywords in SEO; it is called keyword research. After keyword research, they are imposed on the relevant content to rank that content in search engines and get organic traffic.
Keywords are mainly divided into Short-tail and Long-tail keywords.
Two main types of Keywords.
Short tail keywords:
As the name describes, they are short, mainly made up of one to three words only. They are sometimes also called head keywords. To target short-tail keywords is very difficult. Their SEO difficulty is very hard.
Short tail keywords also lack clear the intent of the search.
Long-tail keywords:
Long-tail keywords are made up of more than three words. When more words are added in search, it becomes the long tail. Targeting long-tail keywords is always beneficial as it has low competition and is easy to rank.
Long-tail keywords clearly describe the intent of the search.
How to do Keyword Research?
Keyword research is very important in SEO. Keyword research is easy but technical. In keyword research, different tools are available, like Google Keyword Planner is most common. Similarly, Ahref, Ubbersuggest, SEMrush, and many more tools are also very popular. Different extensions and add-ons are also available for different browsers for keyword research. For keyword research, one must consider two things to go for a keyword that is.
- High search volume
- Low competition
Ahref, SEMrush, Ubbersuggest also tells about the difficulty of a keyword. Ubbersuggest tells it SEO difficulty while Ahref and SEMrush use “Keyword Difficulty” for a keyword to target. Low difficulty means it is easy to rank in the search engines. However, remember a low-difficulty keyword may also have a low search volume, so to target that keyword is not worth it.
Once keyword research is done, now it is time to implement it into the content. For implementation keywords into the content, you must have to be natural with the tone. It would help if you considered the following things.
- Keyword Optimization
- Keyword Density
- Keyword Stuffing
These three things are the most important while you are implementing the researched keywords into the content.
Keyword Optimization means that the keywords must be used in the first paragraph of the post and similarly in the heading tags and the body of the post.
Keyword Density means that how much time the keyword has placed the post. It must not exceed 5% of the total text. By 5%, it means that five times per hundred words.
Keyword stuffing means that the keyword is not optimized naturally, and it also has a density greater than 5% of the total text.
Finally, yet importantly, the bonus point is that you must use LSI keywords in the content. LSI stands for “Latent Semantic Indexing.” These keywords conceptually have the same meaning. They are not synonyms, but they can be related conceptually.
